Kaziranga & Sunderban Tiger Tour / 15 Nights / 16 Days

Day 01 : Arrive Kolkata

Arrive Kolkata airport, Welcome to India!! Meet and greet upon arrival garlanding with fresh marigold flower and transfer to hotel for check in. (Check in time at hotel is 12 noon) Overnight at hotel.
 
Day 02 : Kolkata
After breakfast proceed for city tour of Kolkata, once the capital of the British Empire. It still remains the cultural capital on India with a strong tradition in literature and fine arts. It is also the gateway to the beautiful North Eastern state of India, where the visitor can only gaze in wonder at their pristine beauty. They city tour include visit Fort William, Victoria Memorial, the Indian museum, St Paul`s Cathedral, Birla Planetarium and the Botanical Gardens. (Indian museum closed on Mondays) . Afternoon visit (Mother Taresa home closed between 1200 noon to 1500 hrs) Mother House . Overnight at hotel  
 
Day 03 : Kolkata - Guwahati (By Flight)
Morning after breakfast transfer to Kolkata airport to connect flight to Guwahati , Upon arrival Guwahati airport , transfer to hotel check in .
In the evening, visit Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra (15kms/ 30 mins) – a multi-art complex highlighting the cultural diversity of Assam and other north-east India.  
Guwahati – the capital city of Assam, is considered to be the gateway to North East India. It is situated on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra River. Srimanta Shankerdeva Kalashetra - a multi-art complex portrays the rich cultural diversity and life of Assam as well as that of the North-east. This art complex has been named after the greatest Vaishnava saint and the integrator of the Assamese society, which is why it is chosen as the venue for many cultural activities. Overnight at hotel
 
Day 04 : Guwahati – Shillong 
Morning after breakfast , Drive to Shillong (100kms/3 hrs/1496 M) – “the land of Clouds”. Enroute visit the Kamakhya temple – the main centre of Tantrikism in ancient era. Evening, visit the Shillong peak and Elephant waterfalls.  
Shillong - Meghalaya is best known as the ‘Scotland of the East’ for this pretty hill station. Meghalaya’s natural beauty is most conducive for extended holidays with the hill station of Shillong continuing to be a hot favourite.  Overnight at hotel
 
Day 05 : Shillong
Full day excursion in and around Shillong. Visit the Butterfly museum, DBCIC museum and Ward’s lake. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel .The Butterfly Museum is worth visiting as it has an excellent collection of the winged beauties, many of which are facing extinction. The tiny Museum, based in the home of Mr. Wankhar, in the Riatsamthiah area, holds an extensive collection of (dead) rare butterflies and moths from all over the world. Since 1939, Mr. Wankhar has run a breeding farm in the Khasi hills to the south, shipping eggs and cocoons all over the world. In the afternoon, visit the DBCIC (Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Culture). Evening, go for a walk around the serene Ward’s Lake.  Overnight at hotel
 
Day 06 : Shillong - Kaziranga Nationak Park 
Drive to Kaziranga National Park (280kms/7hrs) . Upon arrival check in at hotel. 
KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK - a World Heritage Site is the oldest park in Assam. It lies on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River. It has 65% of the total world’s population of the Great Indian one-horned Rhinoceros, 50% and 55% of the world’s population of Wild Buffaloes and Swamp Deer respectively along with Asiatic wild Elephants, Hog Deer, Jungle cats, Tigers, Leopards. This National Park also has a variety of about 480 different species of birds. Overnight at hotel 
 
Day 07 : Kaziranga National Park 
Early morning go for an elephant safari in the central range of the Park , followed by a jeep safari after breakfast. Visit the Western Range of the park in the afternoon. Evening at leisure. Overnight at lodge
 
Day 08 : Kaziranga - Isle Majouli – Jorhat
Morning transfer to port Neemathighat - ferry-boat to isle Majouli - visit the monastry and long-houses - Overnight at hotel 
 
Day 09 : Jorhat - Dibrugarh 
Morning after breakfast , Drive to Dibrugarh , Enroute visit palaces and temples of the medieval period of Assam at Sivasagar. In the evening enjoy a cultural programme performed by an ethnic Assamese dance group. Overnight at Tea Bungalow. 
 
Day 10 : Dibrugarh – Wakro
Morning after breakfast drive to Wakro (190 kms / 4 hrs). Enroute we visit Empong Village to see the Khampti tribe and also visit the Buddhist Gompa which is considered to be the largest of its kind in the North-east near Namsai- the land of the Khampti tribe who are believed to be the descendants of the Tai Ahoms.  Overnight at hotel
 
Day 11 :  Wakro
Wakro (maximum valley altitude 2000m) is the homeland of the “Mishmis” one of the Mongoliod tribes of Tibeto-Burman origin. They speak their own dialect which varies from different groups.Over night stay at Mishmi Rereat After breakfast visit the local school and interact with Mishmi tribal villagers to learn about their rich culture and tradition. Also visit Parasuramkund – a pilgrimage site where thousands of pilgrims come every year during Makar Sankranti to take a holy dip in the Lohit River. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel 
 
Day 12 : Wakro – Dibrugarh - Kolkata (By Flight)
Back to Dibrugarh Chang Bungalow . in time transfer to  airport to connect flight to Kolkata , Upon arrival Kolkata airport , transfer to hotel . Overnight in hotel 
 
Day 13 : Kolkata – Sunderbans
Morning after breakfast drive to Gothkhali through beautiful countryside and rural bazaar with a brief stopover for tea and refreshments. Around midday you arrive at Gothkhali Jetty (Travel by land ends here), where you will be greeted by your local guide and provided refreshments onboard your cruiser. We cruise through rivers Gomor, Durgadhwani to enter river Pitchkhali on banks of which lies Sunderban Tiger Camp overlooking the Sunderban Tiger Reserve (Total Journey: 4 Hours / Road 2 Hours: Boat 2 Hours). Overnight in hotel 
 
Day 14 : Sunderbans
Full day explore the Sunderbans . Overnight in hotel .
 
Day 15 : Sunderbans –Kolkata
Morning take a boat and than drive back to Kolkata . Overnight at hotel.
 
Day 16 : Kolkata Departure
Transfer to airport and flight to onward destination
